James Batcho

My name is James Batcho. I’m a professor, writer and lecturer on a variety of subjects. My book Terrence Malick’s Unseeing Cinema: Memory, Time and Audibility will be published by Palgrave MacMillian in May, 2018. I’ve also authored a textbook on film sound titled Sound for Independent Audiovisual Storytelling and written for Media Culture & Society, Journal of Sonic Studies, The New Soundtrack and Atropos Press. I use this space to write about my interests in philosophy, travel, cinema, music, politics and culture. Some are formal essays written for this space, while others are incomplete fragments of thought or personal reflections. It’s also a space to share my photography.
